Eunice, LA (November 21, 2019) – In the latest round of Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings released by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Mercy Regional Medical Center and it’s Eunice campus, Acadian Medical Center, together have been awarded a top 5-star rating. This is the second year in a row they have received this 5-star rating.
CMS unveiled its new, expanded Star Ratings program, as part of a national push to increase healthcare transparency and help patients and their family members make informed decisions about their healthcare. Rankings are determined by a host of data, including mortality, safety and readmission outcomes; patient experience; effectiveness and timeliness of care; and the efficient use of medical imaging.
Mercy and Acadian’s Overall Hospital Quality 5-star Rating is the highest possible performance rating and puts Mercy and Acadian in the top rankings of all hospitals in the U.S., with respect to patient safety and the overall patient experience. Mercy and its Eunice campus, Acadian, are currently 1 of 3 acute care facilities in the state of Louisiana.
“We are incredibly proud of this achievement,” says Calvin Green, chief executive officer (CEO) of Mercy Regional Medical Center and Kevin Frank, chief executive officer (CEO) at Acadian Medical Center. “We attribute our success in the program to our hospital-wide commitment to quality. We would like thank our entire staff of physicians, nurses, and all support staff for their continued commitment to quality,” states Kevin Frank, Acadian CEO.
